What is Mechanicon?

  For Makers, By Makers.

  In the Bay Area, we found that it was difficult to find accessible engineering events for students. We wanted to change that. In Mechanicon, we aim to inspire the next generation of students to be interested in engineering and STEM.

• 

  One Theme.

  Mechanicon also aims to connect engineering to real world problems. This year, we will weather disasters through preventative, first-response, and recovery solutions.

• 

  3 Challenges.

  Curated by dedicated high schoolers, there are 3 mystery challenges for you to solve. These challenges all relate to the theme and will be revealed on the opening day of the hackathon.

• Judging, Prizes, and Regulations

  This Hackathon will be judged by a panel of high schoolers. Participants can only enter only one challenge either as a team or as an individual. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams/individuals. Regulations are to be given out on the opening day of the hackathon when the challenges are revealed.
